Highlights from a career in journalism
In May of 2020 I acquired and relaunched Brooklyn Magazine, the premier culture magazine of New York’s most populous borough. There, I ran all editorial aspects of the brand and managed business operations with two partners. Our twice-weekly newsletter went to a readership of more than 200,000 and boasted an open rate of 35 percent. I also produced a weekly podcast, hosted events and managed a stable of freelancers. We successfully sold the company to new ownership in 2024 and parted ways.
In addition to hosting multiple industry events while at Ad Age, I was also invited to speak at SXSW Interactive Festival, The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, C2 in Montreal, Advertising Week New York, IAB’s Digital Day in Belgrade, P&M’s Women to Watch in Bogotá and more.
I have been a National Magazine Award finalist, won six Jesse H. Neal awards for specialized journalism, three Webby honors (and one Webby finalist) and a MORE Award for excellence in medical reporting.
Here is a selection of my work through the years, roughly in reverse chronological order:
